You will probably laugh at this question, but I need to ask it. Last summer, we vacationed in St. John and had a great time. Although our rental home was very nice, there were a few drawbacks, namely a variety of creepy crawlers, i.e., a tarantula in the bedroom, a variety of Palmetto bugs (roaches), a dead rat in the driveway, etc. A few of us (me primarily) was completely "bugged" out by this, especially at night, when they all came out. Please be honest with me and let me know if I should expect a similar experience in this area.

We are 2 adults, 2 small children (ages 8 and 6). We have been to TCI before and 2 of us got very badly bitten by no-see-ums (ended up at doctors, my daughter looked as if she had chickenpox).
